Can You Fly from Buenos Aires to Bolivia?
There are no direct flights from Buenos Aires to La Paz, but there are direct flights to Santa Cruz (VVI)!
✈️ Buenos Aires → Santa Cruz takes just 3 hours.
From Santa Cruz, if you’re heading to Uyuni, you’ll need to connect through La Paz before continuing your journey.
For those with a bit more time, you can first fly to La Paz and explore the city. Wander through the Witches’ Market, visit Lake Titicaca, and then make your way to Uyuni.
If you’re short on time, you can fly directly from La Paz to Uyuni—a quick 1-hour flight. Alternatively, there’s a night bus from La Paz to Uyuni, which is a comfortable option with reclining seats. The bus departs at 9:00 PM, and by the time you wake up the next morning, you’ll be in Uyuni ready to start your adventure!

How to Get to Uyuni from Salta, Argentina?
In a previous post, Summer mentioned that Salta and Jujuy in Argentina, alongside Chile’s Atacama, are great starting points to reach Uyuni. However, there are no direct flights from Salta or Jujuy to Uyuni.
To get from Salta to Uyuni, you’ll need to connect via Lima, Peru and La Paz, Bolivia—so it’s quite a lengthy journey.
Therefore, taking a bus or private car is the most efficient way to travel from Salta or Jujuy to Uyuni, avoiding all those layovers and extra flights!

Starting from Lima, head south to Cusco, where you’ll finally meet the legendary Machu Picchu. Then continue to Puno, where you can experience the unique Reed Islands of Lake Titicaca.
After Puno, it’s much easier to travel directly to La Paz compared to flying all the way around from Buenos Aires.
Finally, after your adventure in Uyuni, you can fly out of La Paz and head back home—way more convenient!
